A Legacy of Faith & Community

Registered as Gurdwara Gursikh Sangat Hamilton-Wentworth, we are the second oldest Gurdwara Sahib in Ontario. Dedicated to the Martyrs of Sikh Panth in 2002, the Sangat lovingly named it Shaheedgarh Sahib.

Located in the beautiful green valley of Dundas with the Royal Botanical Garden close by, the Gurdwara Sahib offers a peaceful environment for spiritual reflection.

The Sangat gathers every Sunday at noon and at all major occasions. We invite you and your family to join us in congregational prayers and community meals (Langar).

Our Granthi Singh Ji

Bhai Sewa Singh has been performing the duties as a Granthi Singh at our Gurdwara sahib since 2003. He is favourite of young as well as elderly sangat because of his selfless, friendly and approachable nature.

Bhai Sewa Singh has tremendous relationship with the students of local College and University. He is always willing to go far and beyond of his role to help young Sikhs settle in the area, helping international students find not only place to live but also work locally so they can be financially independent.

Our Gurdwara Sahib

Gurdwara Sahib is located on a hill in scenic Dundas, just outside of Hamilton, Ontario. This Sikh Temple in Hamilton is accessible by highway 403. Uniqueness of it includes the hands on construction sewa done by the sangat when building the second storey structure.

With Sangat's hukam(decision) and contribution, we now have a fully functioning elevator; the building and darbar is now wheelchair accessible. Construction and renovations are two ongoing processes for which our volunteers are always excited to come forward and help both physically and financially with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The final building will be one of beauty, peace and majesty. Gurdwara Sahib was dedicated to the martyrs of Sikh religion in 2002 and is also known as Gurdwara Shaheedgarh Sahib. Yearly Nagar Kirtan (Sikh Parade) is conducted to commemorate the memory of Sikh Martyrs and 1984 Ghallughaara.

Gurdwara sahib has a very serene location surrounded by greenery and Royal Botanical Garden close by.
